Please plan to attend for great conversation and great company amongst our fellow community and those who support and advocate on our behalf.

Making a Difference and Make a Difference Day

Dr. Sarah Ramirez, is a native of Pixley, CA. Her mission is to cultivate equity, hope, and compassion through the practice of service . To meet this mission, Sarah is a community engaged scholar who combines her interdisciplinary training in public health (epidemiology), history (local history is a specialty), and cultural studies. Committed to bridging her professional life and personal desires with healthier communities, Sarah completed research with the Tulare County Public Health Department, Stanford School of Medicine, and is currently a researcher at Oakland’s Public Health Institute. She teaches Nia to promote permaculture and advocate for compassion, healthy schools, healthy built environments, and fair food systems. The unifying thread in her work is to democratize activities that support integrative wellness, mindfulness, and compassion as part of a lifelong process toward a more balanced and fulfilling life and make these activities accessible for every BODY.

Sarah will be presenting us with a couple of Make a Difference Day projects that we will give us an opportunity to participate in Make a Difference Day the last Saturday in October and make a difference in our Central Valley community. The projects will benefit Food Link.
